Haydar Hassan is the CEO and Middle East Managing Partner of AE7QA. His strategic thinking and creative vision is the catalyst for exceptional results. Haydar has a unique gift and ability to secure large commissions, while orchestrating and directing a diverse group of professionals on these monumental projects. His ethos "deliver the unexpected" is the mantra for his passionate team of professionals, who create and produce award-winning projects and add value to our clients.

Prior to AE7QA, Haydar was the founding principal and visionary leader who led Burt Hill's expansion into Dubai with their first project in 1999. Through his tenacious leadership Haydar opened the Dubai office and soon after, the Abu Dhabi office. Under his management, as the Director of Burt Hill International, he grew the international office from an office of 6 to over 600 employees in 4 years, more than doubling the entire company and launching Burt Hill from a regional domestic practice into the global arena. Haydar served on the Board of Directors and also as part of the core leadership group on the Executive Committee of Burt Hill. Haydar is a native of Iraq and a US citizen, with his architectural career spanning over 20 years.

ALFRED QUEZADA JR., AIA, LEED ap
President, Principal

Alfred is President and the U.S. Design Director of AE7QA. Alfred's recognized design expertise includes team leadership and total project participation from inception to completion. His architectural design achievements include commercial and mixed-use projects with award winning international recognition in public, private and non-profit sectors for more than 27 years.

Prior to co-founding the practice in 1993, Alfred held the position of Director at STUDIOS Architecture, an international design firm based in San Francisco, California, where he established an expertise at high identity design and technology architecture. Before joining STUDIOS, Alfred held a Design Architect position at Ehrenkrantz Group & Eckstut, a New York based planning and architecture practice focused on large scale civic and institutional projects.

NABIL R. S. ALSAUDI, PH.D., PE
Principal

Dr. Alsaudi is the director of AE7QA's structural department. His knowledge and dedication to the profession has made him a leader in field and is recognized by his peers. Dr. Alsaudi has over 40 years of experience as a practitioner and approaches projects in a unique and creative manner. He has the ability to understand the project challenges and craft an efficient and well-formulated solution to the problem, thus increase value for the clients. 

Dr. Alsaudi was a principal and director of structures in Burt Hill Dubai Office. He established the department in 2006 and grew the team to a staff of 30. He has worked internationally as a structural engineering professor and scientific researcher in universities, as well as in design and management with international consultants.

IBRAHIM ALTAHAN, BSC
Principal

Ibrahim is a principal and the Director of Information Technology at AE7Q. He has over 15 years of experience in Network Administration and IT support in North America and the MENA Region. Ibrahim is charged with overall responsibility for ensuring the smooth operation of AE7QA’s complex IT network – a task that is crucial to the day to day functioning of the firm and its employees.

Prior to AE7QA, Ibrahim was the head of Information Technology for the Burt Hill Dubai and Abu Dhabi offices. During his tenure with Burt Hill, Ibrahim established and developed an IT department from scratch which served the needs of an organization that grew from 40 to over 600 people in less than four years.

CHARLES F. FOX, AIA
Principal

Charles is a principal and our practice leader for project management in both pre and post contract services. His insight into the construction process and his ability to integrate strategic management solutions with the design process provides unique opportunities for all projects. His management style allows for harmonious combination of design strategies and technology systems to create sustainable built environments. His organizational skills and creativity allows him to lead and manage formidable teams for large-scale mixed-use projects

Charles was one of the founding principals of the Burt Hill Dubai and Abu Dhabi offices, as well as serving on the Board of Directors for the company. Charles was instrumental in developing the team for the post-contract site services and implementing the company’s QA/QC procedures. He was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea and received both Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture degrees from Virginia Tech.

TOMAS GULISEK, RA
Principal

Tomas Gulisek is a Design Principal with AE7QA. His unique insight into the integration of design and technology provides a distinctive quality to all of his projects. As the go-to-guy of AE7QA, he has an uncanny ability to digest and instantly comprehend the problem and craft a solution that is sensitive and focused. Tomas is an internationally recognized designer who has worked in the US, Europe and MENA for over 17 years. His strength lies in the diverse range of projects he has worked on and his portfolio spans all market sectors that AE7 offers from destination developments to high-end corporate towers.

Previous to AE7QA, Tomas was one of the founding Principals of the Burt Hill Dubai office and has been living in the MENA region for over 5 years. His work has been internationally published and has received numerous awards for excellence in design. Tomas has a Master's Degree in Architecture from Slovak Technical University. He is about building trust and value with his work. His actions and follow-through on commitments is an invaluable asset to his clients.

MAHMOUD KAZZIHA
Principal

Mahmoud is our principal in Abu Dhabi. In his 23-year career, Mahmoud has worked on a diverse range of projects and has vast professional experience in property development, project management, design and construction.

Mahmoud is in charge of project delivery, and with over 10 years of experience in the Capital he is an expert with the Abu Dhabi Authorities. His relationships developed over the years in Abu Dhabi has allowed for successful delivery of a range of project types on time and within budget. Mahmoud plays a key role for all projects in Abu Dhabi and will be involved from the beginning through construction for all projects.

JOHN C. H. KIM, RA
Principal

As a design principal and practice leader for master planning and hospitality, John delivers intensity and passion for the creative process. His ability to harness innovative and strategic thinking with the architectural design process transforms the built environment into an experiential masterpiece, a key for any destination developments. His ability to craft appropriate design solutions and architecturally create a story for each project has garnered him international accolades and awards, as well as being published in major articles. John has worked on a variety of international commissions from countries as diverse as Vietnam, Iraq, Oman, and Australia.

 Prior to AE7QA, John was one of the founding principals of Burt Hill Dubai office and has created the company’s most significant destination developments and hospitality projects. Born in Seoul, Korea and educated in the Hong Kong and US, John’s career spans over 18 years as creative and design director, for major architecture, exhibit design and communication firms, providing architecture, design, advertising, marketing and creative management experience solutions. John has a bachelor’s of Architecture from the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University and has lived and worked in the US, Hong Kong, Australia and Dubai.

A. CECILIA QUEZADA, AIA
Principal

As Managing Partner of AE7QA in California, Cecilia has compiled extensive local, regional, and national experience for more than 18 years. Beyond architectural design, her project background encompasses sustainability practice, interior design, facilities management, and administration for large and small scale commercial, retail, and mixed-use projects. She has traveled extensively around the world.

EDWARD TINGLEY, LEED ap
Principal

Edward has been responsible for the management of many of the firm’s most significant projects since joining Quezada Architecture at the inception in 1994. As a Senior Design Principal and Project Manager at AE7QA, he has collaboratively shaped and delivered nearly all of the firm's recently recognized commercial projects. In addition to project specific Design and Management responsibilities, Edward presides over the operations and client management practice strategies across the daily spectrum of in-house projects in the California offices.

Principal

Victor is a principal in charge of our Healthcare Advisory Group.
With extensive experience nationally and internationally in the healthcare sector, Victor is a valuable leader facilitating the technical support and strategic management of our Hospitals Division. Victor joined AE7QA in 2012.
